Historic District Survey information for 8-010 Atlantic Ave
Architectural Description: This 2-story, 3-bay former sidehall dwelling is marked as 8 Atlantic Street. The front-gable roof has partial returns; alternating gable and shed wall dormer on south facade supports a roof deck above; stuccoed brick chimney at roof ridge. Raised brick foundation. The main entry on the east facade consists of a panel door with simple surround accessed by wood stairs. There are two secondary entries on the south facade - one at the 1st story and one at basement level. Windows are 6/6 DHS with wood surrounds. Basement windows are 6/6 DHS. Wall dormer windows are 1/1 DHS. A 2nd story deck is located at the rear with spiral stair access to the roof deck.
Historical Narrative: As per Tom Boland (1994): (8)? The first owner listed for the house is Mrs. Butler in 1880 although there is indication that a structure was here earlier. The owner for 1907 was H. Smith.
