Historic District Survey information for 4 Franklin St
Architectural Description: 4 Franklin Street is a 2-story, 3-bay building. The front gable roof has a shed dormer on the south roof slope; skylights on the north roof slope. The main sidehall entry is recessed with paneled reveals; sidelights flank the door; pilasters with Ionic capitals and an entablature form the door surround. Brick stoop with iron rails. Corner pilasters also have Ionic capitals. Fenestration includes 6/6 DHS wood windows with storms and operable louvered shutters. 1 and 2-story rear additions are clad in clapboard and wood shingles. Exterior wood stairs reach 2nd story entry. A gabled dormer is located in the south roof slope of addition adjacent to main building block.
