Historic District Survey information for 7 Alden St
Architectural Description: 7 Alden Street is a 1 1/2-story, 3 bay building with an asphalt shingle-clad side gable roof. Gable dormers are located on south and north roof slopes; partial returns and skylights. A painted board across gable end creates a pediment effect. A frieze below the eaves and corner boards frame the facades. The building is clad in wood shingles, with asphalt siding on the north facade. The main entry is a central pane and panel aluminum door with storm door. The door is flanked by oriel window to the left and a bay window to the right. Both of these contain modern single-pane vinyl casements and wood shingle cladding below. Other fenestration includes 2/1 wood DHS, 6/6 wood DHS, and an oriel window supported by wood braces. Shutters are inoperable. A 1-story ell is located to the rear, with a secondary entrance on the south facade.
