Kelly’s Corner 082 - The rise of Sirius, the Benefit for the Rescue Squad.
Jan Kelly writes a weekly column for Provincetown Magazine. In ancient Egypt, the rise of Sirius indicated the beginning of the flood of the Nile. For Greeks and Romans it was the signal for intense summer heat. The poor Medievals, who were always on the dark side of things, saw the rise of Sirius as an omen of droughts, plagues, and insanity. On the Boatslip’s large and airy deck, you can see a portion of almost every night club act in Town. It's like a smorgasbord of summer talent and it is just fun from start to finish.
