Kelly’s Corner 124 - Mother's Day, Recommendations to a young girl venturing into the big city alone.
Jan Kelly writes a weekly column for Provincetown Magazine. Mother's Day is rather new. It was instigated in Philadelphia in 1907. I can imagine a gathering of all the Philadelphian family ladies, hands on hips, demanding a special attention day. Good idea. Madame Chairman, Jan Kelly has nine recommendations for traveling to the big city which date back to the 40s and early 50s in verbal form and were received by yours truly from her mother.
