Architectural Description: 9 Alden Street is a 2-story, 3-bay dwelling sited slightly below street level with a steeply pitched front-gable roof on main block. The building has three sections - a main front gable core, a gable roof rear ell and a side gable roof addition. A flat roof section connects a rear side gable roof portion to the main front-gable roof section. The roof is clad in asphalt shingles; partial returns; shed wall dormer on north slope; exterior end brick chimney at rear gable end of main block. The rear ell has a shed wall dormer on south facade and an exterior concrete block chimney at the gable end. Corner boards and a frieze below the eaves are present. The building is clad in wood shingles, with the exception of plywood cladding at the flat roof section. The main central entry has a pane and panel wood door with modern aluminum storm. A secondary entry is located at the flat roof section. Fenestration includes 2/2 wood DHS windows.
