Architectural Description: 1-story; 5-bay main portion with 3-bay recessed side ell; Wood roof shingles; 9/6 DHS with wood surrounds and wood storms in main section, and 6/6 DHS with wood storms in side ell; Wood door surround with 4-pane transom with bull's-eye glass; Massive interior brick chimney at roof ridge with corbelling at rim; Doors are wood panel; Main door has storm door; Windows in main section abut cornice -- those on side ell are lower on the facade; West facade - 6/6 DHS wood; East facade - 6/6, 2/2, 9/6 DHS; Rear - sealed panel door entry; shed dormer with 4/4 DHS; Rear ell has continuous multi-light doors; (small) brick patio; Side ell also has 2/2, 6/6 DHS.
Historical Narrative: As per Tom Boland (1994): This house is reputed to be the oldest house in Provincetown. The first documented owner is in 1858 with a Mrs. Paine listed. In 1880, a J. Paine still owned the property and by 1907, the house came under the ownership of R.A. Hammond. w 106 c1930 m25
